Ambient respects the privacy of personal information. All our staff
are required to read this policy and understand their responsibilities
when dealing with personal information.

Pty Ltd trading as Ambient Australia
- Personal information means information or an
opinion (including information or an opinion forming part of a database),
whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not,
about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be
ascertained, from the information or opinion.
Our Privacy Principles
Ambient is bound by the National Privacy Principles
(NPPs) in the Privacy Act 1988
(the Act).We have adopted internal policies and procedures
to ensure that personal information is dealt with in accordance with
the Act. You can see the full text of the NPPs online at http://www.privacy.gov.au/. By ordering our products you are deemed to have
consented to the collection of personal information required to complete
the sales transaction, including your credit card information.
Collection
We need to collect personal information so we are able to:
- Identify our customers and potential customers, and
their authorised representatives;
- Process orders or enquiries received via any source including our
web site;
- Inform individuals of marketing initiatives
we think may be of interest to them;
- Supply products, services or other benefits to be offered to
customers;

- Develop and implement initiatives to improve our products and

Using Our Website
Ambient collects and retains data for the purposes of
supplying you with goods and/or services outlined to you when
visiting our website and for the processing of payment for those
goods and/or services provided.
To ensure we are meeting the needs and wants of our website users,
and to develop our online services, we may collect aggregated
information from our website server logs. We do not use this
technology to access any other personal information of a user in
our records and a user cannot be personally identified from the
information collected on the server logs.
We may collect personal information when consumers/customers lodge
orders for our products or seek information about our products over
our website.
Marketing
We may use personal information to advise the individual
concerned of new services and marketing initiatives that we think
may be of interest to them. This may include special product
offerings and general information about our business.
Those who prefer not to receive marketing information from us can

- Require further information on our personal information handling

Overseas Transfer
We distribute some of our products in Australia under license
from principals located overseas. We may disclose personal information
collected by us to these principals.
We will not transfer personal information outside Australia unless:
- We reasonably believe that the recipient of the information is
subject to legal obligations that uphold principles for the protection
and fair handling of personal information that are substantially similar
to the principles contained in this policy;
- We are given consent by the individual concerned to do so,
expressly or by implication;
- We are contractually required to do so;
- The transfer is for the benefit of the individual concerned
and it is not practicable for us to obtain their consent and if they
were able to grant consent, they would be likely to give it
(in this instance we will advise the individual concerned to whom

transferred will not be held, used or disclosed by the recipient of
the information inconsistently with the NPPs.

We may update or change this policy. When we do so,
we will publish the current policy on our web site.

Complaint Resolution
We are committed to constantly improving our procedures so that personal
information is treated appropriately.
If you feel that we have failed to deal with your personal information
in accordance with the NPPs or this policy, please speak to us so that
we have an opportunity to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

Our Privacy Officer will manage the following process for us to:
- Listen to your concerns and grievances regarding our handling of
personal information;
- Discuss with you the ways in which we can remedy the situation; and
- Put in place an action plan to resolve your complaint and improve
our information handling procedures if appropriate.
If this process does not result in an outcome that is
satisfactory to you, you may contact the Privacy Commissioner's
Office. We will work together with the Privacy Commissioner's
Office to resolve the issues between us.
