Twelve years ago Rocco Esposito (ex Vue de Monde Wine Director) and his wife Lisa Pidutti (an organic farmer) stood at the gate of their property in Beechworth and dreamed up a project that encompassed everything that they were passionate about: seasonality, balance, diversity, and a love of North East Victoria. They called it Project 49.

Their dream has come to life in a wine label that produces a beautiful chardonnay, a café in Beechworth, and now Project 49 has brought the country to the city with a spacious venue in the backstreets of the inner Melbourne suburb of Collingwood.

The new outpost embraces the same philosophy, hospitality and simply executed quality produce as it’s country cousin, but the fluid nature of the venue’s three spaces and its sheer size (there’s a total capacity of 350) means there’s more to be experienced.

The café, open daily, doubles as an Italian style deli and champions produce from North East Victoria. The wine bar and restaurant are next to open and will be both a place to enjoy a glass of wine, a meal, or to grab a bottle for home.

We’re thrilled Esposito, a longtime friend and collaborator, has chosen Plumm as the glassware of choice for this exciting and ambitious project.
